| "When it comes to surfing, I
am truly Barnie, but I love it. My friend John Jones convinced me to
take a surfing trip to Pavones, a remote jungle spot on the Pacific
side of Costa Rica. Before we left, we decided to make our own
boards, and to form a company: Mad & Bad Surfboards and
Designs.
I first painted two boards that were already glassed and then we decided to make 10 samples. John shaped all the boards, I painted all the designs, and together we glassed the boards. We never did anything with the company, but I am still surfing with several of the designed boards." Robin VanArsdol - 1998 |
