The First Generation

Art Gallery
Cheryl Bogdanowitsch Originally from Iowa, Cheryl has lived and worked in Central Florida for almost 30 years. She has been a mainstay in the Orlando art community and has exhibited extensively in Central Florida. She has been represented by the Albertson-Peterson Gallery in Winter Park, has exhibited at the University of Central Florida and the Maitland Art Center, as well as being included in exhibits at the Orlando Museum. She was one of the original artists to have her studio on McRae street, (the Orlando artist district), and has been devoted to the making of her art her entire life.

Cheryl’s works have been influenced by her rural upbringing and a traditional education. She is a wood carver by nature, who transforms the forest into haunting spirits. Dealing with the human figure, and especially the expressiveness of the human face, she successfully intertwines the rawness of organic materials with the subtleties of the human anatomy. Her work tends to have a hidden spirituality and is often mysterious.
