Handmade Paper
"For years I drew and
painted on a three ply rag paper that I bought at David Davis in New
York City. Around 1990, I took a workshop with Angel Soler of Ft.
Lauderdale, FL on making paper, and have been romantically intrigued
with handmade papers ever since. In the beginning I used cottons,
banana peals, garlic, corn husks, carrots, and any other fibrous
material I could find. Eventually, I started looking for outlets and
have used a variety of oriental bark, (wood) papers that I purchased
from Central Supply in New York City. There is something a out
painting and drawing on a rough surface. Oh yes! I love rough edges."
